As Salamu Alikum and hello everyone! Last week while I was thinking of something to make, because I was so bored, I found this crochet bear on YouTube by Amigurumi To Go (you can find the written pattern on her blog), and was like, hmm, the baby needs a toy, I’m bored, and I want to try this Amigurumi stuff I’ve been seeing for ages. So I got some of my navy blue yarn that is actually supposed to be for a blanket I’m making for the baby, but I ran out of black yarn, so it’s just been sitting there for about a week or so…
Well, it was interesting to make it. I think I should have watched the video when it was time to shape the bear ‘cause this bear looks funny. Like, really funny. And it looks black… which totally isn’t working with the black nose I tried to imitate but I think I failed miserably. Hey, it’s my first time, I can learn from my mistakes now.
So things that I would do differently the next time I make it inshallah, which is probably going to be this week, are:
Have you made Amigurumi before? What did you make? How did it turn out the first time you made it? Tell be all about it in the comments below, I’d love to know!
So things that I would do differently the next time I make it inshallah, which is probably going to be this week, are:
- Watch how the lady stuffed and shaped the body parts
- Leave longer tails for sewing (Ugh! Such a pain when I realized the tails weren’t long enough)
- A tip I read from a crochet rattle pattern, which I am going to try soon inshallah (and you can find it here at -) is that she put fabric inside the head part so that any cotton wouldn’t come out and therefore into the baby’s mouth. I think that is wonderful, because this bear has some fluff coming out from when I was sewing
- Use actual stuffing (I got some from Daiso!!!)
