As salamu alikum and hello!
Recently, a few family members went traveling and I asked if they could get me some crafting items, mostly for crocheting, and I'd pay them back. In this post I will share the products I asked for, as well as something that was given as a gift.

I got six skeins of yarn that I have never used before, which are in the photo above (the yarn names are in the order from left to right):
- 3 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver in Aruba Sea, Medium Purple and Monet
- 2 skeins of Yarn Bee in Hot Turquoise and Denim
- 1 skein of Bernat Pipsqueak in Sittin' Pretty
I want to advance in my sewing experiences, so I wanted to try using a pattern and chose a skirt pattern packet with six different styles, as well as a belt. I will need my Grandma's help in figuring out how to use it, but inshallah I hope to be able to share when I make a skirt.
Tunisian crochet hook. I got it in the hook size 5mm/US H, from the company Boye. I want to try a different kind of crocheting, so Tunisian was next on my list after trying out crochet thread.
I had asked for a crochet book, any kind, and this is the book I got: Crocheting in Plain English by Maggie Righetti. I haven't read through it all yet, but I want to mention two things that I kept note of, which is how to hold the yarn, and how to hold the crochet hook. I have learned how to hold the yarn, which is making crochet much easier. I never learned how to hold it properly and here I am, learning years after I got started crocheting. Ain't that something? I don't think I will be able to change how I hold the hook just yet, it might take some time, or might not be able to do it.
The book has different stitches with instructions, as well as a couple of patterns for flowers, and a few clothing items. In each chapter the author has a story to tell about the chapter's subject, from as far as I've skimmed through. The instructions that I have read are clear for me to understand, since I sometimes have to refer to a video to be able to SEE not just READ what to do.

A cutting mat for sewing, which means I need a rotary cutter, and a necklace stand. Inshallah I will use the stand for displaying any necklaces I make, and for when I take photos of them.
The gift that I got is a Mini Tool Set from Gadgets and Gizmos. The set comes with a case, and is small enough to be able to take it around with you on the go. The color-coded tools inclueded in the set are:
