As Salamu Alikum and hello everyone!
A few weeks ago, while searching for some free crochet patterns, I found this crochet Amish Puzzle Ball from a crochet blog called Look At What I Made. I was looking for a toy I could make for my baby brother and a ball seemed perfect! It really interested me, and it looked like one of those complicated projects that are actually really easy to do. It did require a couple of steps though. It took me longer than I would have liked because I had to keep stopping for different reasons while making it, and then I ran out of my orange yarn. So I had to wait till I could get a ride to a notions shop to be able to finish the ball completely. I’d say it took me about a total of a day to make it. I want to make it again and really time myself and see how long that takes.

So, the yarn I used. I was given the yarn a while ago, a nice bag of assorted colors. The orange yarn I believe it is Robin Double Knit in shade 163 and when I got it I had no idea what to make with it, since it is so bright, and I am not a really orangey person. I started to make a door draft with it, but then decided it wouldn’t really be of use to me, so I took that apart. Alhamdulillah I had only just started it, so it didn’t take me very long to frog it. The skein of yarn lasted for all but one wedge, which was surprising, because the skein looked so small.
The blue yarn is Lang Yarn-Omega and I really like that yarn. If I could I would buy more of it, though on the price tag it's 21.50 AED and at the moment I cannot buy one skein of yarn at that price. Inshallah I can soon. The yarn is very soft and I looked it up and on the website it said it is used to make baby clothes, so that’s nice.
Back to the ball, I think it is a really fun looking ball, and I think older kids would even like to play with it, not just little ones. For the stuffing I had to improvise, and use stuffing from one of my pillows. Now, I am not sure if that is safe for a baby, but inshallah it should be okay, since if he does puts his mouth on the ball, its only the yarn that gets in his mouth. At the moment he can't really 'play' with it, he can just hold it, but inshallah when he is older he with really play with it.
Have you ever made a crochet ball? What about a baby toy? How did that turn out? Tell me all about it in the comments below! I'd love to know!
