I am just about finished with my full skeins of yarn (eek!!) and I have a lot of random scraps. Since I was finished with some yarn I got recently for a project I am working on, I wanted to make another necklace because they don’t take that much yarn to make. I found this lovely pattern from a blog called Chabe GS. I made a few differences because of the amount of materials I had.
- Since I was using scraps it is very colorful, which is still very nice, but I was only able to make 3 flowers instead of 7.
- The cord isn’t as thick as the one used in the pattern so I didn’t need to make as many rounds as instructed.
- The cord was the length used in the pattern but if I made as many chains as instructed then I would have a very long necklace and most of the cord would be in the middle of the tube.
But you know, my mom and one of my best friends said that if the tube was longer, then it could be made into a belt. Ah! I think that it would look cute. But I would definitely love to make it again, using a thicker and longer cord. Also make more flowers.
Something new! I decided I would do a ‘Book of the Week’ and it will either be a book I am currently reading, a book I want to read, or a book I have read already but want to read again. So, for this week, I am reading Spy Girl: Once Upon a Crime. I love spy books and when I went to this second-hand store in Ajman called Bu Faisal’s I found it along with a few other books (that inshallah I will post about when I get to them), I just had to get it.
