This is the second part to the hat stand pictorial I posted today and as a special treat, I am posting TWICE in one day! All because I was procrastinating and posted really late earlier today. If you haven't read the first part, I suggest that you do if you're interested in finding out how I made this hat stand.

As Salamu Alikum and hello menasan!
Ohh whee!!! My very first tutorial! I never did one before! This tutorial is going to be for a hat stand. You can use it for whatever, for your own personal use, photos, craft show etc. I am making this for taking pictures with. I have looked all around the internet and found some really nice hat stands. There just weren’t that many that actually showed you how to make your own without having to go buy all these wood pieces, and cut and screw them in place. Not that I can’t do that. I wanted to find something that I could make that was real easy. And you guys see my hands!!! LOL that was really random! As Salamu Alikum and hello everyone! I was going through my blog the other day and went to my About page and realized that I forgot to add one of the most important hobby of mine. It’s one of the things that defines me, is part of my daily life, is part of me…err, you get the picture.
Well, to just get on and tell you what it is (if you haven’t gone to my About page and read it again), it is games. I LOVE LOVE to play games. PC games, game consuls, board games, card games, you name it, I’ll play it. Well, if it suits my tastes, my mood, and if it’s colorful. LOL, just kidding. Or am I? Hmm… As Salamu Alikum and hello everyone!
I know I didn't post anything last Friday and I apologize for that. My grandma came over recently and brought all the ingredients needed to make Eggplant Parmesan. She peeled the eggplant, cut it, dipped it in egg and covered it with breadcrumbs. Then she fried them. After frying most of the eggplant, she had to leave so I fried the rest then layered a pan with the eggplant, fried onions, tomato sauce, then cheese. I did that two more times, making sure the last layer was cheese and put it in the oven for about 35 mins. I don't know how many eggplants she cut, but I do know that I used the smallest jar of tomato sauce and the smallest bag of mozzarella, all of it. Haul As Salamu Alikum and hi everyone!
Last week I went to Daiso and got some things that I thought I could use that would help me with some projects that I wanted to do. Now, I like seeing people’s hauls and stuff, but one day I thought to myself, ‘Hey, aren’t hauls just a way to show off? Like, a way to show off the things you got with your money?’ I suppose so… I’m still not sure. Well, obviously with that mentality I wouldn’t be posting about one now would I? That would be contradicting myself! As Salamu Alikum and hello everyone! Today I want to talk about being a Niqabi. In this post I am going to tell you about when I first started wearing it, my experiences, and any troubles and thoughts I had. If you want to know about being a teenage Niqabi, keep reading on!
As Salamu Alikum and hello everyone!
I have to be honest, I had no idea what I was going to talk about today. I mean I had ideas, but I didn't have the time to put them all into words. Like typing them up. Stuff's been happening and I keep not posting on time. I have plenty of ideas of things to post on Monday, but not so much for Tuesday. I actually looked up some blog post ideas, I seriously had nothing in mind that was fast enough to type down. So, I thought, why not talk about something you really like? BOOKS!! I absolutely LOVE to read, and I would read just about anything. Manga, graphic novels, classics, autobiographies (though not all the time, they can get a little boring), non-fiction, fiction, and the list goes on and on. My favorites though would have to be manga and humor. I love to laugh and have some fun! What I mean by books are my comfort is that, they kind of are. I mean when things get tough and I feel like I need to get away, I can go away to the land in books. They help me ease time away when I can't use electronics, when I'm bored, when I'm sad, and even when I'm happy I'd grab one of my favorite books or go online if I can and read something. I actually have an account on Wattpad, where normal everyday people can post their stories and people can vote and comment and it's really nice. People have actually gotten their stories and books published!!!! I haven't actually put a story on there, but I have thought about it. Perhaps I will inshallah. I also have an account on Goodreads where you can find just about every book every written and give reviews, keep track of the books you've read, or want to read, be on groups where you can talk to other people about, well, books of course! There are also polls, quizes, Author interviews and Q&A, giveaways, challenges, all that good stuff. I'm trying to decide if I should give out my accounts or not. If I do I will put them in another post. If not, then, oh well. Sorry. I realize this is very short. I tried to post as fast as possible so I'm afraid that's all I can say for today. Inshallah I can figure out how to stay in track about posting on time and having inspirations. Perhaps I will talk about books again, inshallah. Do you like to read? If so, what kind of books do you like to read? Do you also like to laugh? Tell me all about it in the comments below, I'd love to know! As Salamu Alikum and hello everyone! Last week while I was thinking of something to make, because I was so bored, I found this crochet bear on YouTube by Amigurumi To Go (you can find the written pattern on her blog), and was like, hmm, the baby needs a toy, I’m bored, and I want to try this Amigurumi stuff I’ve been seeing for ages. So I got some of my navy blue yarn that is actually supposed to be for a blanket I’m making for the baby, but I ran out of black yarn, so it’s just been sitting there for about a week or so… Well, it was interesting to make it. I think I should have watched the video when it was time to shape the bear ‘cause this bear looks funny. Like, really funny. And it looks black… which totally isn’t working with the black nose I tried to imitate but I think I failed miserably. Hey, it’s my first time, I can learn from my mistakes now.
So things that I would do differently the next time I make it inshallah, which is probably going to be this week, are:
Have you made Amigurumi before? What did you make? How did it turn out the first time you made it? Tell be all about it in the comments below, I’d love to know! As Salamu Alikum and hi everyone. It's Friday and I have decided that on Friday's I will post a recipe that either I or my mother made and also if I am lucky, something that I ate out at a restaurant. So, here is my first food post!! Warning!! This picture I took was in my dining/living room and the lights that are in there are the orange ones, so the lighting isn't that good as it would have been if our lights were the white bulbs. Also my food presentation isn't the best so I apologize for that. So, the recipe I got it from a book called "Mums Know Best": The Hairy Bikers Family Cookbook and it is a British book, so the recipe is actually called 'Beer Battered Fish and Chips'. Now I'm not sure if it is okay to give you all the recipe. The authors probably don't allow that. You'd have to get the book if you want the recipe, but I will tell you that since I am Muslim and I don't drink alcohol, I used a non alcoholic malt drink. I guess you can say that it is a normal kind of batter recipe, being that the only liquids are the malt drink and vinegar. I cut up the fish, I think it was 2 bags, more than 1kg I think, and one potato for each person, so 7 potatoes. I fired the potatoes first then the fish. The fries were a little undercooked limp as they had sat for a little while, but in the recipe that's how it's supposed to be. After you cook the fish you recook the fries right before you serve so that they are crispy when you eat them.
Overall, I think I would make it again. Just be careful with the salt. The fries were salted and vinegar was sprinkled over it and it was all pretty good mashallah. As Salamu Alikum and hi everyone. Today, I will share with you some headbands I recently tried and liked, as well as some bows, 'cause who doesn't like bows? I originally wasn’t going to post a crochet project I’ve done, because I didn’t have one, and was instead going to tell you how I got started with crocheting. But then I found some things that I wanted to try and I had the yarn to make it. Plus I didn’t have anything typed down. So, change of plans. First headband: Turban style. Pattern came from Crochet Spot. |
